We are located at 6181 Pine Street, Pollock Pines, CA 95726Our campus serves the Kindergarten, First, Second, Third,and Fourth Grade students in the Pollock Pines School District. School for all grades begins at 9 AM and ends at 3:15 PM. For the 2005-2006 school year we have4 Kindergartens, 3 First Grades, 2 First/Second Grades, 3 Second Grades, 1 Second/Third Grade, and 4 Third Grades. All staff are fully credentialed at Pinewood. All classes visit our fully equipped computer lab each week, as well as our very complete school library. We have a Title I Reading Teacher, Resource Specialist, Speech/Language Therapist, RN School Nurse and a School Psychologist on our staff. The district office and maintainence and operations department are located on our campus. We are fortunate to have California State PreSchool and Headstart at our location as well. We have an active Parent Teacher Club at our school. We are situated on a beautiful forested campus, 50 miles east of Sacramento and 45 miles west of Lake Tahoe. Our area enjoys 4 beautiful seasons and is known as the Gateway to the Sierra and Nature's Wonderland. Pinewood is currently using Houghton-Mifflin Math, and Open Court Reading as our adopted math and language arts texts.
