Our district consists of three schools, a district office, maintenance department, and a transportation department. Sierra Ridge (5-8) and the transportation department are located at the end of Amber Trail.  Pinewood (K-4), the maintenance department, State Preschool and Head Start are located at 6181 Pine Street. Our home school program is headquartered at the district office. Each school site shares the services of a licensed Registered Nurse and a school psychologist. The district supports or offers a number of programs outside the regular school day.

Pinewood School is located at 6181 Pine Street. Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, and Fourth grades are located here, as well as Head Start and a State Pre-school. For the 2003-2004 school year there are five Kindergartens, two First grades, two First-Second grade combination classes, two second grades, one second-third grade combination class and four third grade classes. Class size in K-3 grades is limited to 20 students per class. Kindergarten classes are full day. Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, and Fourth grade classes run from 0900 to 3:15 each day.

Sierra Ridge Middle School is located at 2700 Amber Trail, just across from Emigrant Trail School. There are currently 350 students in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at Sierra Ridge. School begins at 7:45 and ends at 2:00. Sierra Ridge is a comprehensive Middle School and offers a multitude of academic and extra curricular programs. In addition to the normal array of academic classes, Sierra Ridge students have the opportunity to participate in an after school sports program, outdoor camping science, drama, and various field trips. The school has an award winning band program as well. Our middle school students graduate to El Dorado High School in Placerville.

The district provides administrative support to the Silver Fork School District, a small district located in the American River Canyon at Kyburz east of Pollock Pines.
